Update the Beta App

Description

Doctor Drafts allows you to update the Drafts app to the latest beta version directly from Alfred. If an update is available, it will close Drafts if it is currently open, download the latest beta version’s installation ZIP file, extract the content, the latest Drafts Beta application), copy it to your applications folder, and then open the Drafts app. If no update is available, no update actions will be performed.

Steps

  1. Trigger Alfred.
  2. Type in drbeta.
  3. Press return.

Notes

  • The beta version is not for use by everyone.
  • If you are going to use the beta version, you need to be prepared for issues (including potential data loss), and to always feedback on issues that you encounter.
  • More information about the Drafts Beta programme can be found on the Drafts website’s Beta Programme page.
  • Holding down while pressing return (or clicking on the list entry for the beta) will forego the version check and force the download and update process to take place.
  • If the logged in user does not have administrative permissions, the user will be prompted to enter administrator credentials with which to carry out part of the update process. This is utilising a standard Apple process.
